Two international workshops were organized by the Hellenic National Research Foundation and the Volos Academy for Theological Studies at the Conference Center of the Metropolis of Demetrias Volos, Greece. The workshops were part of the research program "Science and Orthodoxy around the World (SOW)", Philosophy and Theology subgroup. More specifically, on Wednesday and Thursday, September 28 and 29, the workshop (led by Vasilios N. Makrides, University of Erfurt, Germany and Eudoxie Delli, Research Centre for Greek Philosophy, Academy of Athens) on "Philosophical and theological approaches to the relationship between Orthodox Christianity and modern science and the dialogue between them" was held, while on Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1, the workshop (led by Fr. Vasileios Thermos, Psychiatrist, Associate Professor the University Ecclesiastical Academy in Athens, and Eudoxie Delli, Research Centre for Greek Philosophy, Academy of Athens) "Psychoanalysis and Orthodox Theology" took place. At the beginning of the meetings, Efthimios Nikolaidis, Director Emeritus in the Hellenic National Research Foundation and Head of the program "Science and Orthodoxy around the World (SOW)" and Pantelis Kalaitzidis, Director of Volos Academy for Theological Studies, addressed the participants of the workshops with greeting messages.
