On October, 10, 2016, a round table discussion was successfully held in Athens, at the “House of Cyprus”. The event was organized by the Publishing House Porphyra with the support of the Volos Academy for Theological Studies, on the occasion of the presentation of the Greek translation of two books by the well-known writer Jim Forest.

Since then and until recently he has been international secretary of the Orthodox Peace Fellowship, while from 1977 through 1988, he was Secretary General of the International Fellowship of Reconciliation, work which brought him to the Netherlands. He received the Peacemaker Award from Notre Dame University's Institute for International Peace Studies for his vision and acts towards the prevalence of peace and reconciliation all over the world. He has authored a considerable amount of books, while the following two, “Loving Our Enemies: Reflections on the Hardest Commandment” and “The Ladder of the Beatitudes” have been already translated into Greek and published by Porphyra Publishing House.
The participants of the round-table discussion included also the Rev. Dr. Vassilios Thermos, Assistant Professor of the Higher Ecclesiastical Academy of Athens, and Dr. Pantelis Kalaitzidis, Director of the Volos Academy for Theological Studies. The event was moderated by the Publisher, Mrs. Maria Kokkinou, who translated into Greek and edited Jim Forest’s talk.
