The third series of online lectures “Time for Action” of the Volos Academy of Theological Studies will start next Wednesday, February 15, at 7.00 pm Greek time. The speaker will be His Eminence Grigorios (Stergiou), Metropolitan of Cameroon, and the topic of the lecture will be “Orthodoxy in Africa: Problems, Challenges, Prospects”. The lecture will be given with interpretation into English and will be accessible via Zoom.

His Eminence Gregorios (Stergiou), Metropolitan of Cameroon, was born in Megara, Greece. In 1984 he joined the clergy of the Holy Metropolis of Megara and Salamis. He studied Theology and Painting. He served the Patriarchate of Alexandria as its Secretary in Rome. From 2003 he served as vicar of the church of St. Theodore in Rome, while he also attended postgraduate courses at the Gregoriana University. In 2004 he was elected Metropolitan of Cameroon.
The series of online lectures “Time for Action” were launched in the spring of 2021, due to the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic. This year's full programme, as well as the details on the lecture of February 15th, will be announced in the forthcoming days.
